Beautiful Creature (A MUST READ!!)

Beautiful Creatures Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book was amazing and so was the audio. The characters were as vivid and rich as red velvet cake. These ladies did a fantastic job weaving their tale into the historical southern atmosphere. Can't wait to read the next one!

Nightfall: Carmill (Before there was Dracula)

Carmilla Carmilla by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu

The precurser to Dracula is a typical tale and when done as audio in radio theater is very entrancing. This is a good classical introduction to mythical vampires.

The Lovely Bones

The Lovely Bones The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The book takes the path less traveled. Yes there was a murder and victim that dies. This is the story of the dead victim and how the world goes on being viewed. It is thought provoking and enlightening for the inner soul. I read and listened to the audio of the author divulging her work. It was a relaxing revealing travel.

A Touch of Dead

A Touch of Dead (Southern Vampire Mystery Short Stories) A Touch of Dead by Charlaine Harris

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I was hoping for a continuation in the Sookie series but got 5 short stories instead. One I had read before in another compilation. They are good stories but just enought to tease you for the real 300 or so page book. The taste is good but just a taste. It better to devour the books as wholes. Yes I would recommend this book but as a companion to all the others.

Blood Promises - Vampire Academy #4

Blood Promise (Vampire Academy, #4) Blood Promise by Richelle Mead

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
At first I was leary about this being mostly about Rose with no interaction from the characters from the other books. I must admit I was very suprised and pleased. This book was great. I loved seeing Rose's struggles and her having to rely on herself and her gut instincts to work through it. I really really can't wait for the next one to come out.

Candor by Pam Bachorz

Candor Candor by Pam Bachorz

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book was a very enjoyable read. I really liked the marketing aspects of the coordinating podcasts. What a unique experience to add to reading this book. I would love to see Ms. Bachorz write more to the story but I have not heard that she is. There are so many good reads in the YA genre right now in this is definitely one that should be passed around.

Tempted-- Book 6 of House of Night

Tempted (House of Night, #6) Tempted by P.C. Cast

Book six in this series was a little slow but has a heart renching cliff hanger at the end. I am devoted to seeing this series out as I do enjoy the story I just really enjoy the way Ms Cast writes action and there didn't seem to be much of that in this story. Still it is a nice cohesive book in the series and I would still recommend it. Just maybe reading it closer to when the next book comes out.

Hush, Hush loud and clear

Hush, Hush Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I read this book as soon as I could and hoped that it would live up to all the glowing comments I read on twitter and the web. This book was a steady delight. Her characterization was very real. Each character's human flaw that makes them unique showed through. The pace of the book was great right through the climax but the end was a bit abrupt. I would recommend this book to anyone but cation them that the end will leave you wanting Crescendo.

Tunnels of Blood - Cirque De Freak Vol 3

Tunnels of Blood (Cirque Du Freak, #3) Tunnels of Blood by Darren Shan

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
These books just get better. I really enjoy the manipulations in the plot. Darren is really coming into his own. He does portray the perfect "half" vampire. I see Mr. Crepsley slowly appreciating him more and more. This book has just enough emotion as to not make it sappy. I am seriously going to try to get my 'not so into reading' son to try these.

Cirque De Freak - The Vampire's Assistant

The Vampire's Assistant (Cirque Du Freak, #2) The Vampire's Assistant by Darren Shan

I liked this book much more than the first. Definately a great sophomore effort from Mr. Shan. I have the next one and am going to jump right in and read it. I really hope I can convince my son to read them.

A Living Nightmare (Cirque Du Freak, #1) A Living Nightmare by Darren Shan

I wanted to read this before seeing the movie. It was an easy read and I think intresting enough for my 11 yr old son. I would definitely recommend it to him to read.

Faery Rebels a good YOUNG adult read.

Spell Hunter (Faery Rebels, #1) Spell Hunter by R.J. Anderson

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
At first I thought is was a good story leaning to the younger side of YA. However the ending I really liked. It had several suspenseful turns and a good resolve. I would still say it leaned to the younger side of YA but overall a really enjoyable read.
